Frequently Asked Questions: Medical Marijuana Resources

  • This Massachusetts state website includes many resources outlining laws regarding medical marijuana.

  • The login page can be found here.

  • It’s a method to reset cannabis tolerance for better therapeutic results at lower doses.

  • Yes! Once our NP completes your certification, you will receive an email from the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission with instructions to complete your state registration. Once you submit that, the state typically issues a temporary digital ID card immediately. You can print this out to purchase medicine at any Medical Marijuana Treatment Center the same day.

  • These are two different dates to track. Your certification is the medical approval from your certifying provider (ElevateCareNP), which is valid for one year from the date you were certified. Your registration is your actual card status with the State. The date on your card is the registration expiration date. You can renew your registration on the state site when you are within 60 days of this date.

  • You don’t have to, but your diet can impact how your body processes cannabis. Certain healthy fats (like those found in avocados or walnuts) and anti-inflammatory foods can help your internal endocannabinoid system function more efficiently, potentially making your medical cannabis treatment more effective.

  • No. Your participation in the Massachusetts Medical Use of Marijuana Program is protected by HIPAA privacy laws. ElevateCareNP does not share your status with employers, insurance companies, or any other third parties without your explicit written consent.

  • As a medical patient, you can visit both Medical (MTC) and Adult-Use (recreational) dispensaries. However, using your medical card at a medical-licensed dispensary allows you to avoid the 20% state/local tax, access higher potency products, and benefit from "patient-only" lines and discounts.
